Easter weekend visitors

Last weekend we hosted my cousin Katie and her boyfriend Jonathan for a few days. They live in London and this was their first time in Montreal, so we trekked hither and yon around the city, showing them the sights. Highlights included the Contemporary Art Museum, lunch at Schwartz’s, MEC, pastries from my favorite bakery in Chinatown and a stroll through the Old Port, where they were deeply impressed by the ice build-up near the pier.

Since it was Easter weekend, the Easter bunny paid us a visit on Sunday , so our visitors witnessed the manic thrills of an early-morning egg hunt and the subsequent chocolate overdose. We then walked off the sugar by taking the kids on a hike up Mount Royal. I think Katie and Jonathan were alternately charmed and appalled by the sheer energy of our children, especially before 7am.

We allĀ had a great weekend and were sad to see them go! Charlotte had to prepare a short presentation in French for school this week, and she decided to document our Easter Sunday activities to share with her class! Click through for her perspective on our day:
