About the author

I’m a part-time Learning Support teacher at a swanky private school in Montreal. I’m also an aspiring author/poet (you know it!) who’s gradually piecing together a manuscript in my spare time – I’ve been working on the same project for about, oh, five years now. I love to knit, garden, cook, bake and hang out with my gorgeous & brilliant offspring.
I’m married with 3 kids; a 5-year-old daughter (Charlie) and 2-year-old identical twins (Elijah & William). We live in NDG and love it here – my husband is a grad student at McGill, who started his PhD in Sept. 08.

Hello…i read your blog today and totally understand!! I have three boys, 10 and soon to be twin 8 year olds. I am a single mom now, i was a stay at home mom until i kicked my ex husband out when the twin were 18 months old. I went back to work. I have to tell you IT GETS EASIER!!! I promise! It has for me at least. I hear you on the laundry, i gave away all my pets as it just could not keep up! so right now i do my best and guess what if we have pizza two nights in a row because i am to tired to deal, so be it! they love it and i am just trying to get by. Your kids look happy and healthy! You are doing a great job! I am sure of it! Like i say to my mom, at least my kids are happy, they will not write in my obituary that i was not a good house cleaner, but i have three great kids! That is what counts! good luck! you can always check out my site, we always have fun stories!!

Hi Becky! Sorry for contacting you this way- I committed FB suicide and mislaid your number … Anyhow, great blog- the kids look so grown up! I can’t get over Charlie with long hair- she’s beautiful! I was wondering if we could speak at some point about Royal Vale. We’ve had it with Roslyn and are interviewing at some of the private schools, but I am wondering if Royal Vale wouldn’t be worth considering, despite my burning-ahem-dislike of the EMSB. I would love to hear your thoughts if you have time for a chat.
Hope you and the family are well-
Jen (Annabel’s mom)
